If it’s the latter, you might be better served by Facebook. I guess the real question you ought to ask yourself is why are in a gun forum? To share and learn? Or to show off and fish for compliments. But I never lost sight of why I was in that classroom, and I never lost sight of why my students were in my classroom - regardless of their level of engagement. I enjoyed teaching, I enjoyed history, and I REALLY enjoyed teaching students who were responsive. (And of course, a small number slept or skipped entirely.) Regardless of their level of engagement, I focused my lessons and lectures on every student equally. Most students sat there silently for three hours a week, a few made rudimentary comments or gave minimal feedback, and an even smaller number actually gave meaningful, thoughtful responses or actually engaged in scholarly discourse. In all those years I got very little “real” student response or engagement. That is one reason I'm hesitatent to take apart my Art. But for no more of a comment that "nice" or "good looking set", it's not worth it. If you really want to see photos of my pieces and leave a comment (more than "nice") I'll be happy to post them here. If I get one or two days with as many comments I figure why am I taking the time and effort to post anything here. I've noticed other new comers who post OK pieces have gotten several days of extended comments. I've been collecting lugers for at least 60 years and have what I believe are some interesting pieces but they hardly get a mention or remark in the GunBoards forum when I've shown them. However the photos I've taken of my pieces and posted them in this forum before hardly receive comments, maybe one or two if I'm lucky. Luger - I've just taken several photos of the pieces we have discussed and I'm willing to post them here in this forum.
